not mentioned there: harmony, style and gestus of the novelette no.1 clearly related to schumann (album fuer die jugend), no.2 makes allusions to prokofiev's style, and this is the case in many of his works. poulenc refers more often to prokofiev than stravinsky (wikipedia does not mention either). the composer gave horowitz the manuscript of the piece, i do not know if h. ever played it.
